T bar S’s Lefty

Lefty is a female from our first litter that was a cross between Buck’s Kunan and Florida Red Wolf’s Cajun Gypsy.  Lefty is black with gray brindle trim.  Lefty has had a preliminary OFA rating of good but the final X-Rays have not been taken yet.   Lefty has produced one litter with Conch’s Bodie.  We have one pup from that litter, T bar S’s Ink Spot.

Lefty has been shown in conformation and hog baying.  She has not placed in baying but she and BLT’s Black Jack had a good two dog run at the 2008 NALC FL show and missed placing by two points.  Lefty has placed several times in conformation.

Lefty is a beautiful dog with great conformation but she is also a great tracking dog.  She does not like to keep her head up in the show ring and it has kept her from placing first.  We have been working Lefty with a Halti head collar and it has helped her to keep her head up.  Ironically after work with the Halti she failed to place for the first time at the 2009 Florida show.  We’ll continue to work with her and hope to get the points she needs to champion.

Lefty has not had a litter since February 2007.  We plan to breed her again to Conch’s Bodie.  That breeding should take place late spring 2009.  The first litter between Bodie and Lefty produced some fantastic bay and conformation dogs. 

Lefty is one of our foundation dogs and is an all around nice Catahoula.  She is put together very nice, has a nice disposition and loves to work.
