BLT's Cajun Dixie

BLT’s Cajun Dixie

Dixie is a blue leopard with rust trim female.  She was born September 17, 2005 at BLT kennels in Palm City, Florida.  Dixie is a cross between Conch’s Bodie and BLT’s Mocha.

How did Dixie get her name?  Dixie was our third female dog and we had no idea what to name her.  Tim suggested Dixie which we both liked.  We added Cajun to distinguish her from other Catahoulas named Dixie and she was registered as BLT’s Cajun Dixie.

Dixie has been shown in conformation and baying.  She is our smallest dog and one of our most tenacious bay dogs.  Although Dixie is a bang up bay dog she will not recall when she is focused on a hog.  Dixie will not have a qualified run until she learns to recall.

Dixie has placed in conformation and has the following wins:

NALC Florida 2006                           2^nd place 3-6 month female

NALC Louisiana spring 2006                        2^nd place 6-9 month female

NALC Mississippi 2008                     2^nd place hip certified female

Dixie is an OFA good.  We attempted to breed her in February, 2009 to Crawdad’s Charisma, an OFA excellent, but she would not accept him.  We plan to try again on her next heat cycle.
